Child Safeguarding and Protection Officer


Summary of the Position (key duties and responsibilities)

The mission of the Child Safeguarding and Protection (CSP) officer is to coordinate and support the implementation of the Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and related policy support documents in the member association and all its programmes in order to mitigate existing child safeguarding risks for children and young people who are directly and indirectly cared for.

Duties:
• Coordinates the implementation of the Child & Youth Policy and related child safeguarding policy support documents in the member association.
• Conducts child safeguarding audit in all programmes of the member association.
• Prepares annual child safeguarding report and submit report to the Child Safeguarding Committee.
• Ensures establishment of a strong and reliable CS reporting and responding procedure in the member association.
• Collects lessons learnt as well as identified challenges to ensure that relevant preventive, awareness raising and capacity building measures are planned and further implemented.
• Identifies capacity building needs on child safeguarding at national level and in programmes and in coordination with HR supports development and implementation of necessary training tools and processes.
• Delivers training on Child Safeguarding and Child Rights to relevant stakeholders.
• Performs administrative duties such as:
- Writing of letters, minutes of meeting, reports and other important documents.
- Maintain a structured and systematic filing system for all documentation and records.
- Controlling access to confidential/ sensible data as per data protection regulations.
