Bioculture Cares is pleased to announce the launch of its 3rd Call for Proposals under the 2027 Grant Facilities. These grants aim to support innovative projects that improve the well-being of people in situation of vulnerability in the Republic of Mauritius, and/or contribute to a higher level of socio-economic development in the southern region of Mauritius.

Grant Categories

1. Grassroots Grant:

Designed to support initiatives that contribute to socio-economic development in the South of Mauritius. Funding between Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 250,000.

2. Project Grant:

Intended for projects led by individuals or organisations working to improve the well-being of Mauritians. This category also supports individual sports talents, with dedicated funding for personal performance. Funding between Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 1,000,000.

3. Core Grant:

Designed to provide flexible funding to non-profit organisations whose programmes contribute to the well-being of Mauritians. Funding between Rs. 1,000,000 and Rs. 4,000,000.

SOS Femmes operates a shelter for women and their children who are survivors of domestic violence, incest, and rape. The centre provides a safe haven where victims can receive the support and care they need to rebuild their lives. We are currently recruiting a social worker for the children.

Job description:

• To organise recreational and leisure activities for the children
• To care for the babies, toddlers and children at the shelter
• To provide afterschool care to the children at the shelter 
• To help the children with their homework
