Terrain for Interactive Pedagogy Through Arts (TIPA), in collaboration with Bactory Art Studio, held the second edition of ART La Li La, a series of holiday workshops designed for children and teenagers.

The programme offers participants an opportunity to discover different art techniques, explore Mauritian culture and meet local artists, while having fun and interacting with children from diverse backgrounds. Beyond artistic expression, the workshops aim to nurture citizenship values and life skills, including mutual respect, critical thinking, self-confidence and creativity.

Through activities such as Auto-Portrait (Self-Portrait), participants explored their identity and learned more about themselves.  Exploration de la Ligne (Line Exploration) encouraged experimentation and respect for their work and materials, while Mo T-Shirt Artistik (My Artistic T-Shirt) allowed them to express their creativity through design. Other activities, including Développer la Patience (Developing Patience), Mo Prop Aquarium (My Own Aquarium) and Mon Animal Coloré (My Colourful Animal), encouraged patience, independence, idea-sharing and respect for others and their work.

Mauritian artists including Gael Froget, Evan Sohun and Skizofan facilitated sessions inspired by their artistic practices, while TIPA facilitators ensured that life skills and values remained at the heart of the programme.

According to Camille Sénèque, Manager of TIPA, the children’s active participation demonstrated that the programme’s social-mix approach was successful, creating a space rooted in diversity, self-reflection and respect for others.

Thanks to sponsorship from private companies, around 20 children from underprivileged backgrounds were also able to participate. TIPA plans to hold the third edition in November 2026.
