As a conservationist, you will have the unique opportunity to protect and preserve endangered endemic Mauritian species.

Job Brief

Exciting opportunity to work on Ile aux Aigrettes if you live in the Grand Port Area Work to save rare endemic Mauritian bird species from extinction!

• Collaborating with a dynamic Field team from various backgrounds
• Practical and theoretical training in species conservation with certificates where relevant
• Grow and build a career in conservation.

Main responsibilities

• Searching for territories and nests.
• Observing and Monitoring nests, bird movements and behaviours.
• Capture and ringing of all individuals.
• Identification of all individuals using leg rings.
• Providing supplementary food.
• Conducting predator control.
• Data entry and report writing in a scientific manner.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Live in the Grand Port area.
• Proven interest in nature.
• Can work outdoors in all conditions.
• Physically active.
• Disciplined, patient and attentive to detail.

Conditions

Interesting package based on qualification, experience, and personality, will be discussed at interview.
Uniforms, tools, and Equipment will be provided.
